The Grade 2 star listed Terling United Reformed Church faces All Saints’ Parish Church across the beautiful Church Green.
Sadly, the chapel is now closed for services and stands empty awaiting it’s next life. Thankfully, copies of many of the church records from the 17th and 18th centuries were taken, some of which are shown below.
I believe the original documents may be held by the Essex Records Office but we are delighted to have access to a treasure trove of village history.
These show a variety of pages of the finance ledgers relating to various building works from 1753 to 1785, including subscriptions and detailed payments for work and materials.
